09:00 - The sea conditions were very good this morning with a pleasant flat water shining of silver colours. We looked first in the areas were the animals were seen last time crossing on our way a pod of 2-3 harbour porpoises. We cruised through Faxafloi bay until we spotted a pod of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins. In the same area there was a minke whale. The animal was shy and difficult to spot so we went back to the dolphins that got a bit more active, some of them bow-riding. After enjoy those joyful dolphins we left the area to explore a bit further south. There, an other minke whale was waiting for us, this time much easier to observe. We could see its back coming up at the surface a few times before we had to go back to the harbour. Many atlantic puffins were seen flying during this tour.

12:00 - We started our trip sailing out to Faxafloi bay with a bit of wind and occasional white caps. We first searched closer to shore and then we head further and further away. We were able to spot a blow at the distance, it was a minke whale! However once we got closer to the area we were not able to find it. We continued sailing and searching for more wildlife and we were able to find many atlantic puffins. As we were about lo return to the harbour we heard the news of a humpback whale in the area! We found the whale swimming gently and showing the fluke and then a breach!!! What a surprise!! At last we needed to return to the harbour, but with some happy passengers onboard!

15:00 - The afternoon was looking great for our last tour of the day, with little wind and beautiful skies. Immediately after leaving the marina we got in touch with the other boats in the area and learned that there was a humpback whale very near. After a bit of searching we saw its characteristic blow, and we headed that way. The whale delighted us with several dives, some of them showing its distinct fluke. The passengers observed and asked questions and learned information about this specific kind of whale. After some time the animal swam into a different part of the bay and we decided to let it go and we continued our sail outwards. We drove some time towards Akranes, and we saw two minke whales. These fast whales impressed the passengers with their speed and their distinct dorsal fins, and we shared information about the way in which we identify them. Afterwards we sailed back into the bay, and we went past Videy, where we could admire the birdlife.
