10:00 - It was definetely the best sea we have seen in a while as we started our morning ride. The sun was shining and there was barely any wind on a very flat sea, how cool ! We shortly stopped as other vessels spotted something ... it was a humpback whale ! This surprise visitor appeared twice for us, including once where we got to see its tailfin, before it disappeared without being seen again. After some time looking for it we moved on to see a pod of 2 white beaked dolphins. These dolphins were moving quite fast, bow riding, passing from boat to boat, but we got to see them properly before we continued our ride. We then looked for animals for quite some time and eventually stumbled accross a big pod of about 10 white beaked dolphins. There was a lot of dolphins calmly moving around the area, definetely a very nice sighting before we had to start to head back toward the harbour, still under the sun.

14:00 - The conditions were great this afternoon, with sunny skies and calm seas. Apparently, white-beaked dolphins had gathered en masse, dominating all areas of the bay we searched. Really everywhere we looked, we saw one, two, or a whole pod of white-beaked dolphins coming up! We could approach a few of them, and some individuals became interested in our boats so we had a very close-up view of their beautiful white-sided bodies. There were probably at least 50 individuals spread out over the bay. After a very long time with the dolphins, Thruma I was able to spot a minke whale. The minke whale surfaced a few times close to the boat, but then held its breath for a very long time. After all this, it was already time to head back to Reykjavík, where we were happy to get into the warm office.
