What did we see today: humpback whales, minke whales, white beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises

We left Reykjavik harbour for Faxafloi in the sunny morning light.  We passed surfacing minke and some white beaked dolphins leaped by our boat before disappearing under the waves.

We then watched a humpback repeatedly surface and we decided that it was resting or sleeping which we have never seen before this summer!!!  On the way back to harbour a few harbour porpoises played in the wake of our boat briefly.

In the afternoon we saw something extremely rare... a breaching minke whale! This is incredibly uncommon, and we were blown away watching the minke propel itself fully out of the water 6 times in a row! It was truly unbelievable! Today was an exceptional day for our lucky passengers!
