What did we see today: minke whales
Today was one big feeding frenzy! With masses of seabirds diving down to swipe up the small fish being herded towards the surface... we knew our naturalists could already tell that there might be minke whales around. And we were not disappointed! Up rose the beak of a lunge feeding minke whale, right in the middle of all of the bird activity. This happened several times on each of our trips and it is exhilarating to see this behaviour, especially because we usually only see the back and dorsal fin of minkes. With some mild waves today the ride was a fun one, with smiles all around as we did our final whiz around Reykjavik bay!
