What did we see today: Harbour Porpoises, Minke Whales & Puffins

Harbour porpoises played around the boat in the morning, and we were lucky to see hundreds of puffins at sea and around their burrows. The passengers got to take lots of great photos of the animals.

We continued further out into the bay and got to see minke whales surfacing and feeding They approached within 50 meters to the boat and we smelt their breath as they surfaced.

In the later tour the harbour porpoises returned to play around the boat. There were loads of opportunities for close up photos, and we could even see them clearly under the surface of the water.

We stayed to enjoy them until we decided to move on in search of adventure and more cetaceans. There were loads of opportunities for close up photos, and we could even see them clearly under the surface of the water. We saw 3 more minke whales, surfacing and taking turns diving for sand eels.
