What did we see today: Harbour Porpoises, Puffins, White Beaked Dolphins & a Humpback Whale

Conditions were perfect all day with the sea like a mirror, making for ideal spotting conditions. First cetacean encounter came from a group of harbour porpoises that surrounded the boat making lots of noise as they came up to breathe.

Shortly after a minke whale made an appearance. We watched this whale for some time before deciding to look for more wildlife and we weren’t disappointed when a pod of white beaked dolphins arrived.

The afternoon was much of the same with the addition of a humpback whale. This whale was seen surfacing many times and lifting its fluke when diving deep. Another day with the four most common species being seen.
